Product Description
Paper California Achievement Test with mailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your testing materials by mail.
This service includes all the necessary materials and instructions for administering the test. After testing, please return the materials to us for scoring (an envelope is included, but you may use any mailing method you would prefer). After scoring the test, we will then mail the final results and original test sheet to you.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE or COMPOSITE SCORING service to your test (both services are explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
It can take roughly 1 week to grade the test and mail the results after receiving your test(s). If ordering the Recommendation Service or Composite Scoring service, please allow up to an additional week for the results and service information to be mailed.
* Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test.
Families who request a composite score will receive (in addition to the individual results provided for the seven subject areas) composite score results in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
To include a composite score with your test results, simply check the "Composite Scoring" option.
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers two different curriculum recommendation services to provide guidance in this area:
Basic Service – provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores. Premium Service – currently unavailable |
Both services can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

CAT an Excellent tool for your homeschool students.
My son found the 7th Grade CAT test easy to understand. He completed each portion of the test ahead of the allotted time. After the test was mailed in, he stated that it was really fun but said he was glad that he had studied his 6th Grade books during our daily classes. I might add that the Curriculum was excellent and the last placement recommendation from CLP was spot on. I highly recommend the products offered by CLP.

amazing for homeschoolers
I use these tests for my teenagers and always get the recommendation service to track how well my kids are doing compared to other children as well as having something on hand as transcripts of some sort It also helps that someone else grades it so I'm not bias toward their answers

Excellent product.
Ordered the 7th Grade CAT test early to use when the school year is over. It will give me an indication of how well my son is doing. The curriculum kit I purchased for 6th grade was great. It greatly reduced my work load. My son also enjoys his school work much better. As far as the 7th Grade test goes, it appears to be very professional and covers the main subjects. Thanks for the excellent customer service and the great products offered by your organization.

Easy to understand directions
I thought it was an easy test to follow as were the directions. She was unable to do the division because our school evaluator told us not to worry about multiplication or division until 4th grade; we had just started multiplying, so she was able to do that part. I like that we were able to do the paper version, as well, since she would feel pressured to do it on the computer. Thanks so much!

Good Baseline Test
While my home schooled students are learning in the mid-2010's, this is still a nice test to use for gaining a baseline of acquired knowledge. For what it is, I think the price is reasonable, and the test materials are easy to comprehend and therefore simple, though not necessarily easy to do. The only thing I would change if possible would be the time constraint. It is a favored test over others in that it restricts itself to reading comprehension, mathematics, and basic English language structure.
