*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test.
Families who request a composite score will receive (in addition to the individual results provided for the seven subject areas) composite score results in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
To include a composite score with your test results, simply check the “Composite Scoring” option.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers two different curriculum recommendation services to provide guidance in this area:
|Basic Service – provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
Premium Service – consists of a phone conversation (up to 30-minutes) with a curriculum specialist. With this service, the curriculum we recommend will be based on more than just the CAT scores; it will also take into account previous courses completed, student interests, learning style, future plans, and other information provided through the conversation.
Both services can take a few business days to complete.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student’s tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student’s tuition fee.

Our family has used this test twice now. We use it to comply with mandated (in PA) standardized testing of homeschooled students in grades 3, 5, and 8. The test is easy to take (we do the online version) and we are happy to once again have testing easily crossed off our to-do list.
My state law requires standardized testing periodically, and I find the info gleaned about my children's academic progress helpful. The online CAT was the perfect way for our family to test--in our own home, at my children's individual paces, and with immediate results. The tests were also very affordable. We opted to take the practice test beforehand, to become familiar with the testing format, and it was a great way to alleviate some of the usual test-taking nervousness. I would gladly purchase these tests again, and likely will in future.
Instructions were clear and easy. Pricing was the lowest I’d found. Having instant results was great. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely use Christian Liberty for testing every time.
Great to have a tool that forces the child to be contsrained by time that you do not control. The standards are high for this version of the test, and it coincides with the type of homeschooling I want my child to be accountable for.
The online test worked well for my 13 year old. Also, when we had a problem someone was courteous and timely to help!
This is the easiest way to take this test. Very thankful for it.
I didn’t like not being able to review the questions that my child got wrong so we know what to work on.
The easy sign up/purchase, accessibility, and quick test results are such a blessing for our homeschool family!
