Christian Liberty Academy

The Christian Liberty Academy (CLA) day-school was founded in 1968 by Dr. Paul Lindstrom (1939-2002), when sixty children crowded into the newly remodeled basement of the Church of Christian Liberty in Prospect Heights, Illinois. It school began as the result of concerns over the direction of public school education and a desire to change the hearts of today's youth by transforming them through God's word.

Initially, the school provided classes for grades K-9, but within three years, the high school program was fully functional. Despite adding a new wing of eleven classrooms to the church building, it was soon "bursting at the seams," and a new location was being sought. Then, in 1985, the Lord sovereignly allowed the church to purchase the former Arlington Heights High School—a 210,000 sq. ft. building on a beautiful 12-acre campus. This move allowed gave the school (then numbering about 200 students) ample room to grow, plus it provided the space needed to hold the ever-expanding Christian Liberty Homeschools academy, the newly established Christian Liberty Press publishing company, and a worship center for the Church of Christian Liberty.

Today, this Preschool to 12th grade day-school serves about 400 families from across Chicago and the northwest suburbs, providing an academically challenging and Christ-honoring curriculum that continues to transform today's youth into tomorrow's leaders who honor Him.
