Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

fast, easy
I live in a state that requires testing. Using the online test is simple, fast, easy with instant reporting. My daughters like seeing their progress as they complete the sections. It works for us and I will continue using the service.

Best way to do testing
I have used these tests for the past 3 years, and loved them! They are so easy to use, and a lifesaver when you realize that you've waited too long to do regular testing...lol! I don't plan on using any other testing service. My kids were relaxed, and I loved being able to do it at the times of day that worked best for us.

So easy to use!
Ordering was simple. The test gave students the opportunity to try examples first before starting the test to make sure they understood the format. Timer built into the test taking as well as breaks between sessions. Results were immediate as well as an easy printout to turn into the school district. I will happily use again!

Painless and Immediate Use and Results
This is a vast improvement over the snail-mail method. I use these CAT tests as end of the year assessment for NY state. These are so easy with the timing built in, and immediate results. It allows the kids to take them right at the end of the year and I can forward the results to the school.

CAT Online Test
Pros: It's convenient & you can do it anywhere Cons: It only covers Math & Language; we had trouble with the sound, as if the link & the picture didn't connect; had to have one section reset to get an accurate test You should know your children as to whether they test well or if they should have a portfolio assessment done.

Loved it!
The online version of the CAT was so easy to use! I loved not having to send the testing materials back, and getting the results immediately. My children loved not having to fill in the bubbles. We wil definitely use this test again.

Online testing not for everyone
Great testing option for homeschoolers featuring immediate results and flexibility. My 9 yr old son, who loves Legos and computer play, had no trouble navigating. His twin sister, who does not enjoy computer play, ran out of time on several sections due to trouble maneuvering the mouse/ clicking the answers, thereby affecting her Stanine score. Overall a great test for the appropriate candidate!

User friendly
We have used both the online version and the print version. The online version is more efficient and user friendly. However, my son has Type 1 diabetes and so it is against the law to time him during tests in case he needs treatment during the test. I assumed I would be able to stop the timer and treat a low blood sugar and then start the timer again. That was not possible. Once you start, there is no stopping. So although both student and teacher prefer the online version, we will not be able to use it in the future.
