Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Great way to test your student
This is a great product to test your student. It is easy to purchase, test are set up for ease of taking, and results are fast. This is my third purchase of the test and I plan on continuing to use this product every year. Thank you for making it available.

Paper Version is Better
Having used the paper CAT in the past, I was disappointed in the online version. Students are able to view only one question at a time. If the student skips a question, he must select "back" multiple times to scroll though the questions until he reaches the previously skipped question. Since each section is timed, this process of scrolling through the questions disadvantages students who take the online test. It adds a variable of computer processing speed and internet speed to the test. I was also disappointed that I could not log onto the test site after the test was scored to see which questions my student missed.

Great way to test
This test was thorough and gave a good, basic understanding of where my child's stands. It does not show the questions my daughter got wrong so that we can work on those areas but it gives a general overview. The test was easy for my daughter to understand except for the grammar portions where her time was close because she had to continually scroll up to see the sentences they were talking about in context. Overall a good assessment tool.

Fantastic!
This was our first testing experience and I was concerned about getting something that wouldn't overwhelm my son. The CAT online version was fantastic! My right-brained son did great and only had a couple of places he needed more clarification from his Dad or I. We will definitely use this again.

Online Achievement Test
I love using the online test! I'm not big on testing but the state requires it so this takes out all the hassle. You buy it, receive your code shortly, take the tests in 2-3 hours and you have immediate results. It could not be easier! The only con I can see is that it is not as detailed as some of the ones I've used in the past. Nor does it offer any extras like "career assessment" for the older students. Still I give this highly recommendations!

Our family uses the online CAT Tests from Christian Liberty every year. They are easy to use. You do not need anyone to administer the test for you. The cost is VERY reasonable. The very best part is that you will have your students results in minutes! These tests have my highest recommendation!
