Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

when corbet was taking test the timer was messed up and does not show a true reading. His results show a #1 for Language Mechanics. I will have to retest in august. Hopefully the test works better at that time.

Wonderful resource
I used this for my younger son and plan on using it my older son. We really appreciated getting the results immediately. Excellent way to get a sense of your child's academic achievement which isn't available at hiscurrent school. Thank you very much for proving this resource at a reasonable cost.

Thankful for an alternative
In GA, we are required to test every three years. We wanted a test for the off years, ,and this test fit our needs perfectly. The fact the results were immediate is incredible. My children were pleased to see instantly how they did, as well.

Pressed the "EASY" button!
This was such an easy way to fulfill our state's requirement for testing. It's treat that they can do it on their own and that we receive the results right away. We will definitely use this option again.

I just started homeschooling this past school year, and a friend of mine suggested that I give my kids achievement tests each year, instead of every three years, as a means of keeping track of how we're doing each year. CLASS made the whole process so easy! I paid for the tests and got the information for taking them pretty quickly. There was a slight problem with the processing part, apparently, but CLASS corrected it before I even knew about it! They took the test at their own pace; we did not have to stick to their suggested schedule. Grading was instantaneous, and I loved not having to wait for the results! I also love it that this is an older version of the test, from before school started expecting less from students.
