Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Appropriate and Convenient
It was right on target for grade-appropriate information, and we loved doing it at home. I looked over her should every once in a while to see what she was getting right/wrong. So helpful for me!!

Easy to administer, but slightly hard to interpret results.
I was very pleased by the ease of administering this test to my second and third graders, though I needed to sit with them and facilitate efficient movement through the pages, as the test sections are timed individually. I received the results for their tests and was able to print them immediately, which was very helpful. On the other hand, the results are a little difficult to interpret without extensive research by the interpreter. It would be helpful if someone could translate the results into a simple explanation of whether or not the child is prepared to enter the next grade level.

Quick and easy!
My daughter took the end-of-first-grade CAT test this week. It was so easy! The code came quickly after I ordered it, the test worked perfectly and my daughter finished it quickly. I had the e-mail with her scores the instant she finished - before she even told me she was done.

CAT (Online Version)
So happy we decided to give the online version of the CAT to our homeschooler getting ready to go into Second Grade. It was very easy to navigate through the test. I love that the test results were immediate. Definitely will purchase/use this program again!

CAT online test
I was disappointed with the online test. It was a little cumbersome to click, scroll, click for each question. Also the there was not enough time given for each section. My kids 1st& 4th grade felt very rushed! This test would be fine to meet your yearly homeschool testing if time was not an issue. I will not be giving this test again.

Best option out there!
We just finished testing three of our kids with Testpoint after years of driving into town and having to take testing with a teacher. This year it was SO much easier to be able to take this test at our own home, taking breaks when they needed and still participating in our normal day. The testing seemed to be perfect for grade level and it was so nice to see the different results according to grade equivalent, average, and raw scoring. Thank you for providing this service, we will be using you for all our kids in the future and I have already recommended you to several other home school moms this Spring!

LOVED online testing experience!!!
we needed to test my son as a homeschooled student this year. as I labored over the approved tests and tried to figure out which one was best, I narrowed it down to the CAT. then I was needing to order it, have a friend or teacher administer it...probably paying them to do it....setting aside time to do it....and get it all turned in on time! someone told me about the online test. BA-BING!!! what an amazing option!! 25 dollars is all I needed to spend. I had a sibling "administer" the test. I requested it, and within minutes had a link to the test. we were able to do sections at a time, not stressing my son to get too much done at any one setting. as soon as we finished the test, the results were instant! WOW!! it could NOT have been easier! Totally met our needs...I will use this again and again....maybe not even on testing years, but to get a gauge of how he is doing....THANKS so much for this option. you are such a stress reliever....would HIGHLY recommend this option!!! suzi

Online CAT Testing
The online CAT was easy and efficient. Love the immediate results. I would have liked to have the full battery available as that is what we usually use when ordering the paper version. Also I was extremely disappointed that there wasn't an overall composite score reported. NH's state law requirements are based on that number. Because I have a student struggling in a specific area, a couple of his individual test scores were too low, but his average would have more than met the state requirement - however because the test doesn't give the overall composite score, I cannot submit it. The paper CAT version from other providers gives this overall composite score. As pleased as we are with online testing, next year I may need to return to the paper format with our previous provider simply to have a reported overall composite score to meet my State's requirements.

Frustrating Testing
We are having a hard time with these tests. The layout is one problem...my son used up precious time scrolling up and down to be able to read the stories. He also had trouble between looking at his scrap paper and then clicking on the correct answer...to much back and forth. He took the 3rd grade test which is also the same for 4th and 5th grade. It was frustrating because he spent a lot of time trying to figure problems he didn't know how to do. It would be nice if it was just a 3rd grade test. It would have been nice to know what kind of info was going to be on the test, so I could know if he was ready. He knew fractions in his math book, but the fraction test problems were very different from the type of fraction info he learned. After taking the 1st part, I called to see if we could switch to the grade lower, and I wasn't allowed (unless, of course, I paid another $25.) It's been a very discouraging testing situation for both of us.
