Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test.
Families who request a composite score will receive (in addition to the individual results provided for the seven subject areas) composite score results in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
To include a composite score with your test results, simply check the "Composite Scoring" option.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers two different curriculum recommendation services to provide guidance in this area:
Basic Service – provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores. Premium Service – currently unavailable |
Both services can take a few business days to complete.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Great option for testing
I have been homeschooling for nearly twenty years and just this year was told about this online option for testing. Up to this year I took the kids to a Christian school to get their yearly tests. I must say this is definitely a much better option. Not having to go anywhere, and being able to take the test later in the year(not when it was available at the school) is definitely great. It was easy and quick. My children had no problems with the format. Will definitely do this again.

Great option
After homeschooling this year, my school district asked that my son take a standardized test. Not wanting a school and teacher to admin the test, I was thrilled to find that the CAT was offered online through Christian Liberty!! The test results were immediate.

Easy Testing
We used the online version CAT from Christian Liberty,it was really easy for our children to take. Christian Liberty also has very helpful tips to taking the test, and I suggest you read through before taking. Make sure you go over the samples in each section with your child before taking. The immediate results was wonderful. Everyone happy! Highly recommend ;-)

CAT-End of Grade 2
Overall we liked the test. The timing stressed my child out somewhat but in the same token was grateful to sort of see where she was and how many problems she had left to do. It was seamless and easy to use and Christian Liberty had the test available to take in less than an hour after we purchased. If I had any complaints, it would not be with CLP, but with the CAT itself. 80% of what she learned in her second grade math curriculum this year was not even on the test (we did Math Mammoth which is quite progressive from everything I have seen). Moreover, there was one part of the math that was 50% multiplication. Multiplication has not been taught on the second grade level anywhere for years. So her math scores were not per se indicative of her level. I don't even think multiplication is something you should teach a second grader. I don't think this will be an issue going forward however as we will teach multiplication in the third grade. Further, I would use this test again.

CAT Grade 10
I would buy this again, but it is not nearly as comprehensive as the Iowa Test. We will continue to do the written Iowa Standardized Test too. Good practice though and reasonably priced. My daughter liked the immediate results.

CAT - Grade 5
I think the test was a fair measuring standard. It was easy to use. Took a few minutes to understand the format initially because this was our first year. But overall we liked it. I do not like that we did not get to know the number of questions asked vs. the number correctly answered on the score sheet sent to us. I did have to keep prompting him of the time limitations. I think some sections would have done well to add an extra two minutes. Other sections had far more time than needed. I would use it again.

Good.
It was great that my daughter was able to do it all herself without me conducting the test. The only problem we had was that she had to scroll up and down on every problem to get to the next problem. She didn't like doing that. We did it on a laptop so maybe that's why.

Excellent way to test!
This was our second year testing and our second year using the CAT online version through Christian Liberty. We really like this method of testing and recommend it to our friends. My son's only complaint was having to scroll constantly to get to the "submit" button to submit each answer (I agree, it was frustrating!). He had his screen maximized and even then he had to scroll :/

excellent
The testing has always been easy to use for me and my kids. I never have had any problems and what the website said it did. I received help when I needed it and I get results as the dates indicate.
