Product Description
Some students struggle when taking standardized achievement tests simply because they are not accustomed to the testing environment. For students such as these, Christian Liberty now offers a special online practice version of the 1970 edition California Achievement Test that will help to make them more comfortable with the testing process.
For obvious reasons, the Christian Liberty CAT Practice Test will not expose students to the same questions that are found on the official California Achievement Test. Nevertheless, students will still be provided with enough questions in each of the major testing categories to obtain a general idea of what they will encounter on the official CAT.
Our online practice test also provides a simplified scoring method in which students are informed immediately upon completion of the test simply how many questions they answered correctly within each test section. For this reason, and others, scores from the online practice CAT are only intended to provide students with general feedback regarding their readiness levels, and are not equivalent to test results from an actual standardized achievement test.

Great prep
This was perfect to get ready for the test. It gave my children a chance to ask questions that they couldn't ask during the test and also for my rising 2nd grader to get better acquainted with using a mouse.

Good practice, but no way to see what was missed.
Inspectors test was good to prepare my children for the real thing. Unfortunately, there is no way to view the problems that were missed so you can work on those areas and review them with your children. Also, it appears that if you run out of time on the practice test you do not receive a score for that section.

Good test to do at home!
I was pleased with the test and the fact that we could take it from our home computer and at our own timing. My kids (3rd and 5th grade) woke up and had a good breakfast. They sat in separate rooms and did their own test by themselves. It was easy to follow (except the Language potion was worded funny) but other then that, I would recommend this test to homeschooling parents. We have taken the SAT, Woodcock/Johnson, etc... and this was a nice change. Unfortunately, it did lack Science and History.

Not bad but a bit of confusion for a first timer (instructor and student) on the instructions.
My son and I appreciatd the variety from the practice test, as it allowed us to see some areas where there may be questions on topics not covered by his current curriculum. We have accepted that this is not a drawback of our curriculum but merely the reality of using a test that needs to meet a very broad spectrum of school types. For us, we were a little confused by the directions and how they played out when taking the practice test. We assumed that when the timer reached zero it would generate a 'finish test and return to menu' type of button and prohibit the completion of questions beyond that point. The instructions did not state that upon the timer reaching zero, all following questions should forwarded past by hitting next (at least not that I ever saw). As a result of this confusion, we completed a couple of the sections without noticing that the timer had run out for the last couple problems. It did not diminish the function that we were looking for from the test, as we wanted it to ascertain the content, but it would have been nice to have the clarification beforehand. For a child not used to using a computer mouse, the circles for marking the answer were quite small. If the child has any hand shaking issues at all, I would advise a lot of practice with mouse clicking first. We ramped up the zoom on our browser to get a larger font and much larger button circles. It helped but we will be working on this a bit before test time. Overall we are looking forward to trying the full test at the end of the school year and hope that it goes well, as the inconvenience of ordering the paper tests and all the deadlines for returns is quite annoying.
