Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test.
Families who request a composite score will receive (in addition to the individual results provided for the seven subject areas) composite score results in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
To include a composite score with your test results, simply check the "Composite Scoring" option.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers two different curriculum recommendation services to provide guidance in this area:
Basic Service – provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores. Premium Service – currently unavailable |
Both services can take a few business days to complete.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Great test!
My daughter loved it. She was done in @ 2 hours and we had the results immediately. We will use this test again next year.

Not enough time
I thought the test was great except for the online version seems to have much less time per test that the written version. Even my brightest student had trouble finishing some of the tests on time. 12 minutes to finish 40 vocabulary words is just not enough! Also, one more thing was, the fact that they had to scroll down to answer a lot of the questions wasted time. If these things were corrected, I would say that it is the best test out there!

Good test
Good test just wish the spacing was easier to use for kids. Kids had to scroll don to see answers and submit answers and sometimes it took up time.

1970's Version Is the Best
Before using Christian Liberty's 1970's version of the CAT test, I had my son practice with a more current version of the test from another provider. I was horrified! The more current test was SO easy for him that it gave me no idea whatsoever of his progress. I was much more happy with the 1970's online CAT from Christian Liberty.

Very easy to use
This test worked great for our family. We had a little trouble hearing the audio for a portion of the testing, but we were able to fix that in our browser settings.Very happy to have been told about this option, we will use it again-

Best investment
I decided to go with the online version this year, mainly because I forgot to order the paper one earlier. I'm so glad I did! I loved the fact that I got the results instantly and it even told me how many questions my child got wrong. It was also very user friendly. I was concerned that she would stress over the timer on the screen, however that was an easy fix by covering it up with a post-it note. I will be ordering the online version from now on!!

Convenient, timely, meets needs
CAT is the perfect way to meet state standardized testing requirements without a ton of hassle, like finding a proxy/administrator with a bachelor's degree. The online version is convenient and meets the need; however, I felt the "box within a box" (no idea what the technical name for this is) really slowed him down. I found that my child would choose an answer and use the arrow key to move down to the submit button, thereby changing the answer he chose. The arrow key works for selection within the "box" the child is working in so you really must use the scroll bars on the side. The web page is displayed as one "box," while the test displays in another "box." My child is 12 and is fairly knowledgeable of a computer. I would be hesitant to use the online CAT for a younger child.
