Product Description
This text presents a solid overview of Old World history. It opens with the collapse of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity in Europe. It then covers the Dark Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the early era of exploration. Readers will also discover why so many of the religious beliefs and cultural values of Medieval Europe were later transplanted to the Americas.

A FAVORITE
This book was a favorite in our home school for our study of The Middle Ages. There is just enough information in this text to use as a "fleshing out" resource. We would study a chapter, then read literature, use encyclopedic resource books, read first person sources, and study art work to finish out the chapter. Since the book is not too long, although meaty enough for serious study, we were able to make a full years course of this text. I very much appreciated the first chapter. These pages tie in the history of the Middle Ages to our life in America today. I would love to see this text turned into a hardcover, full color text.
