Course Description
This study traces the historic roots of the true teaching of the reformer John Calvin and contrasts them with the numerous erroneous assumptions of modern times. Traditional Calvinism is explained and defended, and Hyper-Calvinism and Arminianism are refuted in subjects such as the sovereignty of God, the atonement of Christ, and the perseverance of the saints. Students will be challenged to comprehend the significance of the Reformed faith in light of the actual teachings of Holy Scripture. They will also be given a greater appreciation for how Calvinism has helped to shape Western culture.
