Best for student and teacher
I love this book because I am weak in English. It enables me to learn material I need a refresher in prior to teaching my son. He understands and works very well with this book, and we will stay with this series in the future.

Easy to use self guiding English book
We start our 3rd graders in the BJU English books with much success. Book is patterned so that you get a chapter of grammar (verbs, adjectives, possessives) followed by a writing skills chapter (folklore, poems, outlines for research paper) that applies what what learn. Book has an EXCELLENT glossary that is invaluable.

Great product
I am thankful for this curriculum. My son's understanding of grammar is much more in depth than before. Our previous curriculum didn't seem challening enough. This one makes him have to think through each sentence carefully and slowly. He finishes with a smile and a sense of accomplishment.
I like that there is a short teaching we read through together at the beginning of each lesson. Then, there is a guided practice with about 10 problems we work through together. After that, he does some independently.
The optional, simple and very helpful, teachers manual is an added bonus!
